PURPOSE: To increase the resolution of screen, by separating the luminance signal and chrominance carrier signal at lower side band area of a carrier chrominance signal, broad band camplifying the luminance signal and broad band demodulating and amplifying the carrier chrominance signal.

CONSTITUTION: A comb type filter 11 inputs a composite video signal and separates the luminance and carrier chrominance signal at the band of lower side of the carrier chrominance signal. The luminance signal in the filter 11 is separated at a luminance signal LPF16, the carrier chrominance signal in the filter 11 is demodulated at an orange cyane system axis with an I axis demodulator 18, and the output of the demodulator 18 is band-limited with an I signal LPF20. Thus, the luminance signal band is broad band amplified, the carrier chrominance signal is demodulated and amplified at broad band and picture is reproduced.
