PURPOSE: To facilitate assembly of a brush holder device by mounting a brass lower plate which is inserted in a brush holding resin substrate and where an outside lead wire and a brush feeder line are connected, and forming the back plate of a brush pressing spring after storing the brush pressing spring.

CONSTITUTION: A brush holding resin substrate (BH) 23 is mounted so as to be integrated with a brush box (BB) 25. The BB 25 is formed with a brass lower plate 24 inserted in the BH 23. One end of the brass lower plate 24 is turned up to connect a brush pigtail (BP) with an outside lead wire. A brush 21 is stored in the BB 25. To the BB 25, the BP 26 is connected from a opening part which is open in a perpendicular direction to a brush holder 20. After storing the brush 21, a brush pushing spring (BS) 22 is stored to press the brush 21 against a commutator 12. Then, the brass lower plate 24 is bent so as to be perpendicular to form the back plate of the BS 22.
