PURPOSE: To improve productivity and prevent the size of a buffer apparatus from being enlarged by a method wherein 1st buffer apparatus which has functions of storing works temporarily and sending out the works and 2nd buffer apparatus which has functions of storing and sending out a large number of works are installed in parallel and unified.
CONSTITUTION: When the handling capability of a downstream process is lowered or the failure occurs in the process, in accordance with a stopping signal from that process, works transferred from the working apparatus of an upstream process and successively stored in the magazine 10 of the 1st buffer apparatus 1. As the storage in the magazine 10 is essentially a temporary measure, empty piling-up magazine 87 are set in 2nd buffer apparatus 2 and the 2nd buffer apparatus 2 is transferred so as to make the belt conveyer 95 of the buffer apparatus 2 positioned in a main transfer belt connecting the upstream and downstream working apparatuses automatically or manually to make the works stored in the piling-up magazine 87. After that, the works transferred from the working apparatus of the upstream process are successively stored in the piling-up magazine 87 of the 2nd buffer apparatus 2.
