Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL: A butenone compound of formula I (R1 is pyridyl or thiazolyl, substd. independently by one or more substituents selected from halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, haloalkyl, cyano, alkoxycarbonyl, alkylamino and dialkylamino; R2 is H, alkyl or alkylcarbonyl; R3 is alkyl; R4 is haloalky; X is S or N-R5; R5 is H, alkyl or alkylcarbonyl; n is 0 or 1).
EXAMPLE: 1-Dimethylamino1-methylthio-4,4,4trifluoro-1buten-3-one.
USE: Useful as agrochemicals, especially pesticides.
PROCESS: A compound of formula II is reacted with a compound of formula III (R6 is alkyl; R7 is alkyl) to give a compound of formula I when R3 is R7.
