PURPOSE: To enable the free action of a texture by setting a holding foot in the opening direction as soon as a wiper arm is started after the completion of button sewing, completing the pick-up feet opening action before the completion of the wiper arm action and setting button while the holding foot is lifted immediately after the completion of the wiper arm action.

CONSTITUTION: When sewing for a button 16 is completed, a sewing completion signal is inputted to a controller 26 from a switch. In input timing of the signal, a wiper solenoid 36C of a wiper arm 24 and a solenoid 20G of a holding foot opening and closing mechanism 20 are simultaneously turned on. As soon as the holding foot 18 start to open, the wiper arm 24 wipes a button 16 and texture to then turn off the solenoid 20 of the holding foot opening and closing mechanism 20 and next turn off the wire solenoid 36C. At the same time a turning arm of a button carrier 14 is driven to set the next button 16. Thus, the releasing timing of the button 16 and texture can be speeded up to move freely the texture.
