This cache register is connected with an automatic change machine 7 equipped with a function for receiving and paying paper money and coins and a function for outputting the received sum information of currency so that purchased merchandise can be registered, and that the total sum can be calculated and adjusted. This cache register is provided with inputting means 2 and 3 for inputting the received sum information from the automatic change machine 7, a present total key controlling means 21 for adding a received sum calculated from the registered value and the total sum to a logical balance, and for issuing a money payment instruction to the automatic change machine when change is necessary when the present total key 2a is operated after the numerical registering operation, and a recording means 1a for recording information for recognizing whether or not a normal money receiving operation is executed, based on the logical balance and the received sum information inputted after the end of the fare adjustment operation.
