Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject compound capable of raising formation of muscle protein and metabolism of muscle substance by anticatabolic action, useful for recovery and transient reduction of marasmic and degenerative diseases causing high catabolic substance metabolism, and preventing and treating attenuation of bone tissue, etc.
CONSTITUTION: This compound is shown by the formula CaXC6H5O7 (X is an alkali metal) such as calcium sodium citrate. The compound of the formula is obtained by reacting an aqueous suspension of (A) calcium citrate with a concentrated aqueous solution of (B) an alkali metal citrate and (C) citric acid in the molar ratio of the components A:B:C of 2:2:1 to 2:2.5:1 at pH 4.6 to 4.8 at 80-95°C under reflux for 1-1.5 hours, filtering a formed solution, washing the residue with water and drying or concentrating the formed solution to dryness or is obtained as a state of a formed solution.
