To provide granules extremely facilitating the molding of calcium carbonate, and to provide a method for preparing the granules.
The granular composition includes the calcium carbonate having a small median particle diameter (0.1-20 μm). The extremely moldable calcium carbonate granules are formed by mixing a composition containing the calcium carbonate in a mixer providing high shear, and drying the resultant composition in a convection drier. The improvement of moldability is achieved further by using a preparation containing the powdery composition having the smaller median particle diameter. Further improvement is achieved by using a preparation containing two or more kinds of powdery compositions having different median particle diameters. The granules are useful for the tableting of a medicine and a functional food, and provide a tablet having a size smaller than that of the conventionally available one.
