Abstract:
PURPOSE: To sufficiently lubricate a sliding face between a cam base circle and a tappet by forming a recessed part in the cam base circle, orientating a rib end part on the cam shaft in the adjacent to the recessed part, and projectingly providing projecting beam ribs which becomes larger toward the cam shaft rotation direction, in the radial direction.
CONSTITUTION: A recessed part 75 is formed from an end edge 74 opposed to an intake cam 41 and an exhaust cam 42 in a cam shaft direction in a base 73 of the intake cam 41 and the exhaust cam 42 of the cam shaft 29. Projecting beam ribs 77 which cross with the cam shaft central line on the cam shaft 29 in the adjacent to the recessed part 75, have rib ends 76 orientating to the recessed part 75, and become larger toward the axis rotation direction are projectingly provided in the radial direction. After lubricating oil blocked by the projecting beam ribs 77 is guided to the recessed part 75 of the cam base circle 73, it can be supplied to on the cam base circle 73 from the recessed part 75 so that the cam base circle 73 and a tappet 50 can be sufficiently lubricated. This constitution does not require any processing to the tappet 50 so as to have superior processability and reduce its cost.
