PURPOSE: To make close contactness excellent and to improve the flatness of a film by arranging a magnetic head with the inclination of a prescribed angle with respect to the traveling direction of the film, so that a magnetic gap part roughly perpendicularly press-contacts with a magnetic recording part.

CONSTITUTION: The magnetic head 1 is pressed toward the film 2 by a pressing spring 3, simultaneously, an encroaching quantity L is imparted to the film 2 traveling along a film rail 10a and the magnetic gap part 1a is arranged with the inclination of an angle θ with respect to the traveling direction of the film 2. When the magnetic head 1 is disposed like this, the magnetic gap part 1a is roughly perpendicularly press-contacts with the magnetic recording part, because even if the film 2 travels in the direction shown by the arrow and press-contacts the magnetic head 1, to generate a bulge, the magnetic gap part 1a is inclined in accordance with the generation of the bulge. Therefore, the close contactness of the magnetic gap part 1a with the belt-like magnetic recording part of the film does not deteriorates and the traveling load of the film 2 is never increased.
