PURPOSE: To improve the precision of the distance measuring operation for self- timer photography to the level corresponding to that for normal photography, by making the scanning region for self-timer photography larger than that for normal photography.
CONSTITUTION: A photodetector 1 receives the light from a light projecting LED, and a photodetector 225 receives reflected lights of a light receiving lens 201 and a half mirror 224. Photodetectors 1 and 225 are so constituted that a length D1 from the center of the mirror 224 to the surface of the photodetector 225 is longer than a length D1 from the center of the mirror 224 to the surface of the photodetector 1. Consequently, the length of the optical path from the center of the light receiving lens to the surface of the photodetector 1 is longer than that from the center of the light receiving lens to the surface of the photodetector 225, and the angle for an object in the photodetector 1 is wider than that in the photodetector 225. Therefore, the scanning region for self-timer photography is larger than that for normal photography, and the probability of accurate acquisition of the object is increased.
