PURPOSE: To connect a camera with an adapter freely attached/detached to/from the camera at an X contact and to transmit various kinds of information through the X contact.
CONSTITUTION: The output V0 of the stabilized power supply circuit 41 of the camera 10 is connected to the X contact 21 through resistors R1 and R3 and the resistor R1 is connected to ground through a resistor R2. A resistance circuit including resistor R4, R5, R6, R7 and R8 is installed also in the adapter 30. Voltage Vin inputted in the CPU 40 of the camera 10 is varied by turning on/off a stroboscope switch 31 (31A and 31B), turning on/off a distance setting switch 32(SWA and SWB) and by a transistor TR2 turned on according to a charging completion signal, and the CPU 40 recognizes whether a stroboscope is turned on or off and whether charging is completed or not. When a strobe light emission signal XON is outputted, an FET1 is turned on and the X contact 21 becomes an almost ground level, so that the output of a comparator 55 becomes an H level and the stroboscopic circuit 50 of the adapter 30 is started, then the stroboscope emits the light.
