Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camshaft drive structure of an internal combustion engine which can secure a degree of freedom of a layout of a valve grip angle, and can easily weaken tension applied to a chain.SOLUTION: A camshaft drive structure of an internal combustion engine 1 comprises second reduction sprockets 24R, 24L which coaxially and integrally rotate together with a first reduction sprocket 22, and second chains 25R, 25L which are wound around an intake cam sprocket 6S and an exhaust cam sprocket 7S. The first reduction sprocket 22 has a number of teeth which is a double of the number of teeth of a crank sprocket 10S. The second reduction sprockets 24R, 24L have tooth numbers which are the same as those of the intake cam sprocket 6S and the exhaust cam sprocket 7S, and formed into a shape which is profiled from a complete round in order to generate a tension variation whose phase is reverse to those of tension variations which are generated at the second chains 25R, 25L.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
