To provide a capacitor discharge circuit for safety improvement, capable of improving the safety of a light irradiation apparatus by easily discharging a capacitor for a power source when the power source of the light irradiation device is OFF at a low cost.
The capacitor discharge circuit 10 for the safety improvement relating to one embodiment of this invention is provided with a relay switch 11 and a semiconductor switch 13 connected to the capacitor 3 for the power source, a relay control circuit 12 for generating a relay control voltage, and a semiconductor control circuit 14 for generating semiconductor control signals. When the power source of the light irradiation device 1 is OFF, the relay control circuit 12 closes the contact of the relay switch 11 by stopping the supply of the relay control voltage, and the semiconductor control circuit 14 conducts the semiconductor switch 13 before the contact of the relay switch 11 is closed by starting the supply of the semiconductor control signals and also holds the conduction of the semiconductor switch 13 during a chattering generation period in the relay switch 11.
