To provide a capacitor provided with a safeguard which stops surely the operation of a capacitor itself before the contents of the capacitor jump out when an internal pressure of the capacitor rises.
This electrolytic capacitor provided with a safeguard is retained pivotally by a fixing member 4 in a sheathing case 2, one end is connected with a sealing member 3 whose form can be changed by the internal pressure, the other end is connected with a lower surface of an external terminal 6 fixed to the sealing member 3, and the capacitor has conductive lever members 6 connected with lead tabs 7. When the internal pressure increases, one end of the lever member 5 moves in the outside direction in accordance with the bending of the sealing member 3, and the other end separates from the external terminal 6. As a result, an electric circuit of a capacitor main body is broken, and the operation of the capacitor can be stopped surely before the contents of the capacitor jump out.
