Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the loss of coating and inhibit the formation of rust, in a car body structure having a cross member provided with a reinforcement member.SOLUTION: A car body structure 100 includes a cross member 2 that is provided between two side frames 1a and 1b, and gussets 3a and 3b for reinforcing the cross member 2. A slit 6, into which paint flows during electrocoating, is formed on contact surfaces D1 and D2 of the gussets 3a and 3b. The gussets 3a and 3b are welded to the cross member 2 in a state in which the contact surfaces C1 and C2 of the cross member 2 and the contact surfaces D1 and D2 abut on each other, respectively. Subsequently, the gussets 3a and 3b and the cross member 2 are electrocoated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
