PURPOSE: To decrease the rolling resistance and increase the skid resistance of a tire by covering the surface layer of a tire tread with an anti-abrasion rubber of high skid resistance and using a rubber of low energy-loss inside the tread.
CONSTITUTION: A tire tread is shaped by laminating a cap rubber of high skid resistance with a P-value defined by P=-Re×Tg less than 2,500 and the P-value of a base rubber 1 when the modulus of repulsion elasticity measured by a Luebke repulsion elasticity meter is Re (%) and the peak-value temperature of tan δ measured by a dynamic visco-elasticity meter is Tg (°C) and a rubber 3 of low rolling resistance with a modules of lost elasticity E" not greater than 16kg/cm2 measured at 20°C, 11Hz frequency and 2% amplitude. The tread is obtained by simultaneously extruding both of the cap rubber 2 and the base rubber 1 so that their interface 6 may be corrugated in the section and the cap rubber 2 may be thickened in the groove parts of the tread.
