PURPOSE: To provide a card device which can attain its requested function regardless of the power supplying capability of the host side by adding another power terminal to supply the external power to an internal circuit.
CONSTITUTION: Another power terminal 4 is added to supply the external back-up power to an internal circuit 1. The circuit 1 receives the supply of power from the host side through a connector 2 and also can receive the supply of power from outside through the terminal 4. Therefore the circuit 1 can normally operate and can attain its function as a card even if the power consumtion of the circuit 1 exceeds the power that can be supplied from the host side. Meanwhile an internal battery that can drive the circuit 1 is also available in a card device in place of the terminal 4. Thus the normal operation is secured for the circuit 1 by the power supplied from the terminal 4 or the internal battery. Then the card device can attain its requested function.
