Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a carrier for electrostatic image development which does not contain fine powder of unshaped magnetic materials being the cause for wear of a cleaning member and rubbing flaws of a photoreceptor surface and a process for producing such carrier and an image forming method by this carrier.
CONSTITUTION: This carrier for electrostatic image development is obtd. by a dry process coating method for forming resin coating layers consisting of resin particulates for coating on the surfaces of magnetic material particles by imparting repetitive mechanical impact to a mixture composed of the magnetic material particles and the resin particulates for coating. The magnetic maternal particles of the carrier consist of the ferrite component expressed by compsn. formula: (MO)x(Fe2O3)y [M denotes Zn and Cu, x, y respectively denote molar numbers.] and contains 0.9 to 3.5wt.% Fe2+.
