PURPOSE: To prevent occurrence of tremor of a carrier when return movement and advance movement are in cessation by improving a mechanism that gives return movement and advance movement intermittently to the carrier of the carrying device of a transfer press.

CONSTITUTION: A pair of clamp carriers 3, 3 are provided in a reciprocating carrier 2 of the carrying device of a transfer press allowing free shifting, and a pair of transfer bars 5, 5 are provided so as to allow free vertical movement. The device is equipped with the first and second arms 11, 12, a link 13 attached pivotally to the second arm 12, a sliding block 15 provided in the second arm 12 and fits in a long groove of the link 13, a rotary arm 26 provided in the link 13 correspondingly to the first arm 11, a disk 30 supported pivotally so as to allow free rotation and provided with a long groove 31 to which a sliding block 27 of the arm 26 fits in, and a sliding block 32 that fits in a long groove 17. Rotation of the arm 26 is converted to semirotary motion of the disk 30, and rotation of the disk 20 is converted to movement in the feeding direction of the carrier 2.
