Abstract:

To secure sufficient corrosion resistance and satisfactory sliding performance, even when printing is executed in at least one surface of a recording medium.

In a magneto-optical disk 1 constructed by being housed inside a cartridge, a first dielectric layer 3, a signal recording layer 4, a second dielectric layer 5 and a light reflecting layer 6 are laminated in sequence on a substrate 2, having grooves 2a formed thereon. On the light reflecting layer 6, a first protective layer 7, a printing layer 8 using at least one kind of color, and a second protective layer 9 are laminated in sequence. The film thickness of the second protective layer 9 is set equal to that or larger of the printed layer 8, and the film thickness of the first protective layer 7 is set equal to 2 μm or larger.
