PURPOSE: To prevent records from becoming thin by ultraviolet rays or the like or being erased by water or dirt by reading recorded information while detecting the depth and width of a groove with light reflected at a recording part which is formed by any non-magnetic material and records the information as the groove.

CONSTITUTION: This carved recording slip is composed of a recording part 2 formed integrally with a main body 1 of a bottle under the surface of the main body 1 of the glass bottle. This recording part 2 records the kind of contents batted in the bottle, for example, the capacity of the bottle or information for classification (namely information concerning the size or contents of the bottle) as the width or depth of a bar-shaped groove 2A or the width of a non-groove part 2B. Then, this recording part 2 is read by a bar code reader for mark reading. Therefore, for this recording part 2, the surface forming the groove 2A is planarly constituted so as to easily perform scanning operations.
