Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the cascade connection system for twist pair line LAN making an effective use of twist pair cables connecting nodes and saving the wiring.
CONSTITUTION: The LAN system using a twist pair cable 2 containing pairs of twist pair lines A, B, C, and D is constructed to transfer signals from cascade-connected MAU 3 by cascade-connecting MAUs 3 for terminal connection to the cable 2 connected to each port of a multiport repeater 1 for repeating signals and transmitting signals from the MAU 3 by means of unused twist pair lines. Thus, the wiring length of the cable 2 can be saved by cascade- connecting MAUs 3, resulting in easy addition of terminals.
