Abstract:
To prevent the leakage of molten steel from the terminal part of a cast piece in a last stage, and improve the quality of the terminal part of the cast piece by reducing both depth of a solidified cavity and depth of powder immersion at the terminal part of the cast piece, in continuous casting.
The method is the casting completion method to solidify the terminal part of the cast piece using a jig 9 for preventing leakage of the molten steel. In completing the casting, a heating or heat insulation substance 8 is added to the molten steel 2 inside a mold 4. After then, the jig 9 for preventing the leakage of the molten steel is inserted in the molten steel 2 inside the mold.
