To provide a casting method and a casting apparatus which can manufacture cylinder blocks with different specifications in one casting line without the need to perform changing of the whole mold.
When a bore pin adapter 7 is provided so as to be movable in and out from a cavity to manufacture a cylinder block of diesel specification and when the bore pin adapter 7 is housed in an adapter housing part 8 while a cylinder block of gasoline specification is manufactured, the bore pin adapter 7 has been exposed to the cavity by the drive of the adapter drive mechanism. Accordingly, cylinder blocks of diesel specification and cylinder blocks of gasoline specification can be randomly manufactured in a mixed way without performing changing of the casting mold.
