Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst device capable of adsorbing NOx and purifying exhaust gas in a low temperature area of exhaust gas having low NOx purification activity of catalyst, discharging adsorbed NOx in the vicinity of catalyst in a high temperature area of exhaust gas having high NOx purification activity of catalyst, enhancing purification efficiency by increasing NOx density in the vicinity of the surface of catalyst and efficiently purifying NOx in all temperature areas of exhaust gas.
SOLUTION: In this catalyst device for purifying NOx in exhaust gas, an NOx adsorbing material 13 capable of adsorbing and discharging NOx is carried by a catalyst carrier 11 together with catalyst metal 12 for reducing NOx in exhaust gas by reducing agent and purifying NOx, and the NOx adsorbing material 13 is formed so as to adsorb NOx when an exhaust gas temperature Tg is lower than a first NOx discharge starting temperature TN1 and to discharge adsorbed NOx when the exhaust gas temperature Tg is higher than the first NOx discharge starting temperature TN1.
