To provide a catalyst for emission gas purification which suppresses a hasty release of NOx from a NOx absorbent at the time of rich spiking to prevent the lack of reducer, and an emission gas purifying facility.
The catalyst for emission gas purification 1 is carried by a surface 21 of the catalyst carrier 2, and consists of a first catalyst 11 composed of a mixture of the NOx absorbent such as barium oxide having an absorptive/release action for NOx and a reduction catalyst such as platinum having a reducing action, and a second catalyst 12 having the absorptive/release action for oxygen such as cerium oxide. The first catalyst 11 is provided in a direct contact with the surface 21 of the catalyst carrier 2, and the second catalyst 12 is provided thereon so as to cover the first catalyst 11.
