Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a catalyst for reduction of NOx having a large specific surface area at high temp. and to provide a method for using the catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: Tungsten oxide as a catalytically active component is carried on a carrier consisting of lanthanum and (3-alumina represented by 11-14Al2 O3.La2O3 and NOx is brought into a reduction reaction with the resultant catalyst in the presence of ammonia. This catalyst ensures high catalytic activity at a high temp. of about 1,000°C.
