Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eliminate the defect of an image screen owing to the lens effect from a nonbridging component even though an unsaturated polyester resin is used as a binder, by controlling the residual amount of the nonbridging component after the binder is hardened, at a specific ratio.

CONSTITUTION: In a cathode-ray tube, made by attaching a transparent front panel with the outer surface given an unreflecting treatment to the front surface of a bulb panel with a resin, an unsaturated polyester resin is used as a binder, and the nonbridging component amount in the resin after hardening reaction is controlled between 20 and 30 %. In order to prevent the defect of the screen, and to satify the property as a binder, the residual amount of the nonbridging component is preferable to be less than 30 %, and to control the component between 20 and 30 %, the adding amount of a hardening agent is limited 1 to 3 wt %, the hardening temperature is made at 60 to 120°C, and the hardening period is less than 3 hours. By combining the above-mentioned tree requirements adequately, the residual amount of the nonbridging component can be controlled as desired. In such a way, the screen defect owing to the lens effect is eliminated, and, an interface removal, a resin crack stria, and the like are not produced.
