Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain both a cationically curable prepolymer high in curing rate, excellent in adhesivity to a substrate, capable of developing excellent physical properties and an active every ray-curing type coating material composition using the prepolymer.
SOLUTION: This cationically curable prepolymer is obtained by subjecting (a) a compound containing two to four epoxy groups, (b) a polyfuncitonal carboxylic acid or (c) a compound containing two or four hydroxyl groups to polyaddition reaction. This active energy ray-curing type coating material composition comprises (A) 5-94.5wt.% of the cationically curable prepolymer, (B) 5-94.5wt.% of an epoxy compound liquid at a normal temperature and (C) 0.5-15wt.% of a photopolymerization initiator.
