Abstract:
PURPOSE: To realize the CATV system in which the entire installation cost is smallest by utilizing a satellite channel for a transmission channel, allowing each CATV station to use a ground station in common, irradiating a beam from the satellite to each area switchingly and reducing the size of an antenna of each subscriber.
CONSTITUTION: A ground station 2 converts a TV program from CATV stations 3, 4, 5 sent from a ground line 6 into a high speed digital TV signal and selects a signal of each CATV station sequentially and sends it to a satellite. The satellite reduces a beam spot on ground and varies the emitting direction of the spot periodically in response to the changeover of the ground station and sends it to areas A, B, C. Plural subscribers store once a burst signal to a storage circuit and read the signal at a prescribed speed and decode a TV program.
