Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the CATV terminal equipment in which a remote control code suitable for a connected equipment is automatically set.
CONSTITUTION: A CPU 17 provides an output of a code representing power-on among remote control codes for VTR control by each manufacturer sequentially from a remote control module 4 and a video signal discrimination circuit 16 monitors the presence of a video signal on each occasion. When a manufacturer of a connected VTR is coincident with a manufacturer represented in an output code, since a power of a VTR 2 is turned on, a black back, white back or a black burst signal or the like is outputted from a video output terminal of the VTR 2 and the video discrimination circuit 16 discriminates the video signal by detecting the presence of, e.g. a synchronizing signal in the signals. The CPU 17 discriminates a manufacturer code outputted at that time to be a manufacturer of the connected VTR at present and stores the manufacturer name to a nonvolatile memory 18.
