To provide a caulking method by which the durability of a caulking punch is improved and the slip-out of a pin is prevented stably, and to provide a caulking structure.
In the caulking method, a caulking punch 1, in which the shaft part is notched from both sides of the radial direction and the caulking tip part 12 left in a flat plate shape is formed into a V-shape which is mostly projected in the center part, is used. A locating pin 6 is inserted and arranged into a through-hole 51 formed on a carrier cover 5 and, by driving the caulking punch 1 to the edge part 511 of the opening of the through-hole 51, portions 512 opposed to each other in the radial direction in the portion on the side of the opening of the inside wall surface of the through-hole 51 is protruded.
