The ceiling embedded fluorescent lamp fixture comprises a lower surface open type fixture main body 1 to be embedded in a ceiling surface. A pair of fluorescent lamps 5 arranged along a longitudinal direction of the fixture main body 1 are arranged to the lower surface side of the fixture main body 1. A pair of socket mounting pedestals 3 to be mounted along a short side direction of the fixture main body 1 are arranged at both end parts of the fixture main body 1. Socket mounting parts, four pieces in total, are formed on respective socket mounting pedestals 3 along the short side direction of the fixture main body 1. Both end parts of respective fluorescent lamps 5 are detachment freely fitted to respective lamp sockets 4. Lamp sockets 4 are mounted to the two pieces, out of four pieces, of the socket mounting parts located at one side. The lamp sockets 4 are not mounted on the remaining two socket mounting parts. A reflection shade 7 making light from the respective fluorescent lamps 5 reflect in a manner that the light becomes asymmetric along a short side direction and directs downwards toward the center of the short side direction, is mounted at the inside of the fixture main body 1.
