Abstract:
To provide a cell automaton miniaturized in a chip area as much as possible and improved in arithmetic performance or a processing speed as much as possible.
The cell automaton consists of plural arithmetic units which are arranged in the state of a matrix and provided with comparatively limited functions. In this case, the arithmetic units of them are provided with input sides N1 to N4 decided by simplified neurons and controlled by adjacent cells, threshold value forming function inputting sides F1 to F3 and output sides OUT 1 to 4 connected to the input sides of the adjacent cells. The cell automaton like this can be used for executing picture processing such as contrast reinforcement, edge detection at high operation speed.
