To protect a nozzle and a band heater at the time of centering operation and improve precision of the centering.
An annular body 9 having an outer diameter to be idly fitted into a nozzle insertion opening 3 of a mold 1 is annularly mounted on a tip of a nozzle 6. By making an injection cylinder 4 proceed and making certain of interference of the annular body 9 with the nozzle insertion opening 3, the injection cylinder 4 is moved up and dog and right and left so as to align the center axis of the nozzle insertion opening 3 with the center axis of the nozzle 6. The annular body 9 prevents the nozzle 6 and a band heater 7 from striking against the mold 1 and a stationary platen 2 so as to ensure safety of the nozzle 6 and the band heater 7. In order to make the annular body 9 enter the nozzle insertion opening 3 easily, the position of the injection cylinder 4 is adjusted, so that the axial core of the nozzle 6 is correctly aligned with an axial core of a sprue hole 8.
