Abstract:

To obtain a heat insulating high strength ceramic having heat insulating property, strength and thermal shock resistance.

This ceramic fiber reinforced ceramic contains a ceramic matrix contg. silicon and nitrogen and/or carbon and having ≤100nm crystallite size and ceramic fibers surface-treated so as to regulate the interfacial strength between the fibers and the matrix to ≤100MPa and having ≤20W/mK heat conductivity and has ≤10W/mK heat conductivity, ≥300MPa strength and ≥8MPam1/2 fracture toughness.
