Abstract:

To provide a ceramic sintered compact having improved corrosion resistance and thermal shock resistance, a method of easily manufacturing the ceramic sintered compact and a long life boat formed from the ceramic sintered compact.

The ceramic sintered compact contains titanium diborate, boron nitride and a strontium compound, wherein the boron nitride has ≤6.666 Å C-axis lattice constant, 60-130 MPa three point bending strength and 40-60 GPa elastic modulus, and the heating element for the vaporization of the metal is formed from the ceramic sintered compact. The method of manufacturing the ceramic sintered compact is carried out by sintering raw material powder comprising specific 2 kinds of boron nitride powder, titanium diborate powder and the strontium compound powder.
