PURPOSE: To realize the foreign character input through a simple key operation for the Chinese character input unit by providing the storage region for the foreign characters and its corresponding RAM.
CONSTITUTION: Each character 7 on the character board is stored in the ROM. For the foreign characters excepting characters 7, foreign character key 8 is first tapped, and then the desired character is sought on the foreign character code table. And the character sought is tapped at ten-key part 10 and then the keys is storage region 11 are tapped, and thus the desired character is stored in the RAM in correspondence to the storage region key. After storage, the code for the foreign character can be sent out by just tapping the keys like other characters. For the transfer mode, the same procedure is also available as the foreign character input after tapping transfer key 9. As a result, the foreign character input becomes possible with a simple key operation, thus realizing a Chinese character input unit featuring a large number of input characters.
