Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charge/discharge type MSM-PD circuit that generates repetitive electrical pulses at high speed.SOLUTION: An MSM-PD110 is connected in parallel with an input resistor 120 with a bias voltage (V) applied thereto, a charging capacitor 130 and a variable current source 150, and is connected with a parallel resistor 140 at the other end. The variable current source 150 comprises: a HEMT 151 with a gate terminal and a drain terminal connected together operable in a saturation mode; and an MSM-PD152 arranged between a source terminal of the HEMT 151 and the charging capacitor 130. The HEMT 151 receives a charge voltage (V) applied to the gate terminal and the drain terminal and functions as a constant current source. The MSM-PD152 functions as a valve for turning on/off a current output from the HEMT 151 at an accurate timing according to an optical trigger pulse radiated.
