To provide a charging circuit and a charging control method thereof, capable of attaining safe charging using a simple structure, using a commercial AC power supply, and downsizing and cost reduction.
This charging circuit comprises a rectifying circuit 20, which conducts half-wave rectification for AC voltage supplied by a commercial power supply 10 and produces pulsating current having a voltage waveform of fixed cycle, a current limiting circuit 30, a switching circuit 40, a switching control circuit 50 which arbitrarily adjusts the supply condition (charging current supply period and current value) of charging current to a capacitor storage battery 70 and controls the conducting condition of the switching circuit 40, and a counterflow inhibiting circuit 60 to which the capacitor storage battery 70 is connected.
