Title:
CHARGING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5511042
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable the dust deposited on electrode plates and discharge wires to be readily removed by providing a supporting member movably between the opposing electrode plates and discharge wires of the charging device, providing the brushes acting upon the electrode plates and the brushes acting upon the discharge wires to this supporting member and moving the supporting member.

CONSTITUTION: The operating rod 9A of a cleaning mechanism 9 is rotatably mounted through the lower part of the ground electrode plates 3A thru 3C of the charging device and arms 9B thru 9E are so fixed to this operating rod 9A as to position between the respective electrode plates 3A thru 3C and the discharge wires 5A thru 5F opposing to these. A large amount of fiber-form brushes 9F, 9H are studded on the side faces of the arms 9B, 9C opposing to the electrode plates 3A, 3B so that acting force becomes strong. A small amount of fiber-form brushes 9G, etc. are studded on the side faces opposing to the discharge wires 5A, 5B, etc. so that acting force becomes weak. The arms 9B thru 9E are oscillated by turning the operating rod 9A to rub the surfaces of the electrode plates with the brushes 9F, 9H etc. and scrape off deposited dust and at the same time perform dust removal of the discharge wires with the brushes 9G, etc.
