PURPOSE: To realize a high-speed input of the Chinese characters for the information input used for the information process via the computer without changing the key arrangement on the keyboard which is used for general purpose.

CONSTITUTION: The information supplied via the key is converted into the Chinese character code and then delivered. Keyboard 2 is capable of supplying the English letters, the kana characters Japanese syllabry and others, and one Chinese character can be supplied with the double application input. Each Chinese character is stored in the conversion table memory at the code conversion part, and the combination is possible at the control part with every two characters of the information supplied. Then the corresponding Chinese character code is drawn out of the memory. The coding of each Chinese character is carried out in various methods to secure the facilitated association and memorization. Accordingly, the Chinese character data can be obtained quickly, accurately and easily and with excellent expertness and reduced mis-keying rate. For the example of coding, a Chinese character "AKU" is coded by longitudinal coordinate 6 and lateral coordinate 8 in the form of "a, h", and a Chinese character "JIN" is decomposed into side character and body character, for example "b, v" for coding, and others.
