Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a new chiral phosphorus-contg. ligand useful to form a transition metallic complex used as a catalyst.

CONSTITUTION: The chiral phosphorus-contg. ligand is a compd. of one of formulae I-IV (where R1 and R2 are each H or hydrocarbon; R3 and R4 are different from each other and are each H or hydrocarbon; and R5 and R6 are each H or hydrocarbon), e.g. (1R,2S)phenyl-1-(oxydiphenylphosphino)-1-(N-methyl-N- diphenylphosphinamino)-2-methyl-2-ethane. The ligand is obtd. by allowing an optically active amino-alcohol of formula V to react with a compd. of the formula P(R)2Y (where Y is halogen or amino) at -50 to +80°C in a hydrocarbon solvent in an inert gaseous atmosphere.
