Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce bitterness of Eurycoma longifolia Jack, enhance flavor and improve drug effects by containing an extract from a root or a stem of the Eurycoma longifolia Jack in a chocolate.

CONSTITUTION: A root or a stem of Eurycoma longifolia Jack belonging to the family Simaroubaceae is shaved into the form of chips and extracted with hot water, boiling water or a hydrous alcohol and the resultant extract solution is freeze-dried or dried with hot air to afford an extract. To a chocolate composed of cacao butter, a perfume, a sweetener, a coloring matter, a plasticizer, etc., is added 0.0005-5wt.% aforementioned extract.
