PURPOSE: To provide a clad type positive electrode plate excellent in life performance in which a tube is never ruptured in use by providing a plurality of blades only on both side surfaces parallel to electrode plate surface of a cylindrical core metal, and setting the height of the blade to a value determined by a prescribed equation or more.

CONSTITUTION: Eight blades 1' are alternately provided on both side surfaces parallel to electrode plate surface of a cylindrical slender core metal 1 consisting of lead or lead alloy. Fifteen core metals 1 are integrally connected to the lower part of a master bone 2. The top ends of the core metals 1 are inserted to a hole in the center of a bottom can 5 consisting of a synthetic resin, and a part of the outer circumferential surface is thermally fused to the lower part of a tube 3 to prevent the dropping-out of an active material 4 in the tube 3. The height of the blade 1' is set to a value determined by the expression {tube bore diameter (a)-core metal outer diameter (b)}÷2×0.74 or more.
