PURPOSE: To improve a manufacturing yield without causing a sliding flaw by a clamp piece on a work even in case of the work being slightly eccentric, by performing the clamp of a work by a clamp piece via a freely rotatable roller.
CONSTITUTION: In the case of a work 4 being eccentric to the right side for a clamp device 1, for example, 2nd and 4th rollers 8b, 8d first abut on the external surface of the work 4 in the approaching course. In the course of clamp pieces 2, 3 approaching further each other the 2nd and 4th rollers 8b, 8d are moving the work 4 to the left part while rotating. Finally 1st and 3rd rollers 8a, 8c also abut on the work 4 at the time when the work 4 is located at the same position as the clamp device 1 and the work 4 is clamped by clamp pieces 2, 3 via the 1st-4th rollers 8a, 8b, 8c, 8d.
