A device used for transferring the cloths clamped to clamps is so constituted that a transfer plate 20 is installed movably in the front/rear direction relative to a device body 11 for tentatively retaining the tip of a cloth 15 clamped to the clamps 13 and 14, between themselves and a receiver part 18 of the device body side; and a presser member 31 for pushing the cloth against the transfer plate 20 and releasing it thereafter, when the tip of the cloth 15 clamped to the clamps is fallen onto the transfer plate from the clamps, is openably/closably installed on the transfer plate, moves the tip of the cloth W tentatively retained between itself and the receiving part by the advancement of the transfer plate 20, moves it to a position in the upper part of the conveyer by the retreat of the transfer plate, and transfers the tip part onto the conveyer 35 by opening the presser member W and releasing the cloth W.
