To easily adjust the holding position and holding force of a cloth presser foot with minimum change by providing a cam surface in the shape of holding a presser bar lifter roller at a prescribed position when the presser bar lifter roller is moved in the direction of lowering a presser bar lifter-lifting lever in a presser bar lifter cam in a cloth presser driving mechanism.
The tip part 3a of the presser bar lifter-lifting lever 3 is connected so as to be engaged to the cloth presser foot in a vertical direction and the cloth presser foot is vertically moved by the vertical movement of the lever 3. The side of the base part 3b of the presser bar lifter-lifting lever 3 is connected to one end side of the presser bar lifter link 5 of the cloth presser driving mechanism through a link mechanism 6 and the upper end part of a presser bar foot 7 is connected to the vertical swinging end part of the depressing arm 6c of the link mechanism 6. Also, one end side of the presser bar lifter link 5 is connected to the horizontal swinging end part of a linked connection arm 6d and the presser bar lifter roller 8 pivotally supported to the extension end side of the link 5 is brought into press-contact with the cam surface 9a for which a dead center is formed in an intermediate part of the presser bar lifter cam 9 fixed to a machine frame side.
