To provide a clothes dryer provided with a mechanism for introducing an optimal airflow into a drum by minimizing a calorific loss of air exhausted from a heat pump unit.
A clothes dryer includes: a rotary drum 6 for accommodating clothes; a rear panel 4 for covering a rear side of the clothes dryer body; a motor 2 for driving the rotary drum 6; a fan 3 for introducing a drying air into the rotary drum; and a heat pump unit 1 for removing moisture from the clothes. Further, an airflow channel between the heat pump unit 1 and the rotary drum 6 is constituted by two parts, that is an air-channel cover 5 and an air-channel part 7 having a bell mouth 18, instead of using the rear panel 4 as an airflow channel, with the air-channel part 7 provided with an air guide panel 8, thereby minimizing a thermal leakage in the drum and optimizing an airflow in the drum, improving an energy saving performance.
